Golfing At its Best

(ContentDesk) April 23, 2006 -- Golfing is at its best when played at a premier course in a breathtaking setting, like Southern California. When you add the fact that this prestigious sport can provide funding for hearing impaired children and their families, then you know that golfing is at its all-time best. Shawn Parr, famous radio personality, actor and father, is an avid golfer. Mr. Parr is lending his time and talent to the John Tracy clinic as he once again hosts the Shawn Parr Golf Invitational.

As your host for the 13th year, I look forward to meeting you when I tee off with each team. By taking part in the 2006 Tournament, you will enable Orange County Guild to make important progress toward its second million in donations to the Clinic! exclaims Shawn. This years event is being held at the El Niguel Country Club, and is located at 23700 Clubhouse Drive, Laguna Niguel, California, on Monday, May 15th.
The shotgun start will be at 11:30 am. The El Niguel Country Club is one of the nations premier golf courses.

Shawn explains why he loves doing this event, Our goal is to have everyone go home with a great memories and the warm satisfaction of knowing they have brought hope, guidance and encouragement to the parents and children at the John Tracy Clinic. This past January, Shawn golfed in the Bob Hope Celebrity golf tournament among other well-known celebrities such as Justin Timberlake, Marcus Allen, and Matthew McConaughey. He golfed along side golf pro Scott McCarron (a member of Parrs team), as well as Chad Campbell, Scott Verplank, Ryan Palmer and other greats. "Shawn Parr is an exceptional man who willingly lends his time and energy to people in need. He is passionate about golf and he is passionate about others," states hollywood friend Karen A. Oliver.

Shawn is currently starring in NBC thriller Heist, on Wednesday nights. He is also appearing in the upcoming feature film releases of
Lucky You (Warner Brothers), and Waist Deep (Focus Features). As the golden voice of radio, you can hear Shawn on KZLA FM 93.9, as well being the voice for the American Music Awards and Golden Globes. The families of hearing impaired children are all too aware that they cannot do it alone, Shawn Parr is doing what he can by hosting the Shawn Parr Invitational. Columbia, MD (ContentDesk) April 24, 2006 -- In 2005, the average length of time it took to get a
hearing after a request for a hearing was 485 days (16 months) from the date one asked for a hearing.
SSAs goal in that year was 250 days (8 months). Note that SSAs goal numbers on the linked page below include the time it took to get a decision out. The numbers received in response to the FOIA request are from the request date for a hearing to the date one gets a hearing.Jo Anne Barnhart, commissioner of the Social Security Administration, has vowed to speed up disability determinations with use of electronic technology.
She claims that her methodology will improve the accuracy speed, and fairness of disability decisions.In 2005, virtually none of the 141 hearing offices met the Administrations goal of 250 days from the time one asks for a hearing to the time one gets a hearing.
